Bright as a morning song.

Our everyday light roast — honey-sweet, gently bright, and smooth enough to sip all day. The one that's always on the counter while the single origins come and go. If light roasts have ever tasted thin or sour to you, this is the one that changes your mind.

Honeyed sweetness leads, a gentle citrus lift keeps it lively, and it finishes clean and smooth — no bitterness, no bite. Easy black, easy with a splash of milk, easy cup after cup. A light roast that comforts instead of challenges.

How it's built: three high-grown lots, each roasted to its own role — a honey-sweet heart, a mellow backbone, and a bright little lift on top — blended to a flavor, not a formula. Bright the way ripe fruit is bright, never the sour-green of an underdone light. That's our whole light-roast belief: developed, not raw.

Best for: the morning pot and the all-day refill. It's forgiving — pour-over, auto-drip, however you brew it, it tastes like Coo Coo's on a $600 machine or a $19 one. The light that works in real life.

Brew It Right — Bert's Songbird Baseline
Light roasts like it a touch hotter and a hair finer. Start here.
Auto-Drip / Batch — ~2 Tbsp per 6 oz cup, medium grind. The everyday pour.
Pour-Over — 1:16, medium-fine, 205°F, ~3:00. Where the honey and citrus really show.
French Press — 1:15, coarse, 4 min. Rounder, softer side of the cup.
Pour a cup, let the birds sing. Songbird was made for mornings — so we gave it a morning soundtrack. Put on Dawn Chorus → and ease into the day.

Roasted to order in small batches in Jacksonville, FL, then rested a few days to reach its peak before it ships — great coffee needs a little time. Please allow 3–5 business days. Best within 3–4 weeks of the roast date.

Pairs with: the single-origin lights · a favorite mug · join the SBOF

Our tasting notes describe what we taste in the cup — flavors coaxed from the bean by roasting, never added. Welcome to the Small Batch of Friends®.
