Coo Coo’s Coffee • Tech / Error 404 • Programmer Series
It Compiles. It Runs.
It prints the Coo Coo’s smile.

A real C++ program on a tee. Modern syntax, working code, three layers of comedy stacked into eleven lines. The headers are reframed as coffee jargon. The sleep timer waits two actual minutes for the brew. The output? An ASCII rendering of the Coo Coo’s happy face. The shirt is its own source code. Front in terminal green. Back: Computer Bert at his laptop, coding the same thing you’re wearing.

The Design Story

The original Hello World program was C++. The first thing every coder wrote. A rite of passage. This tee takes that ritual and points it at coffee. The headers (`iostream`, `chrono`, `thread`) are reframed as coffee jargon — brew time, baristas. The `sleep_for(2min)` line uses modern C++14 chrono literals to make the program wait two actual minutes before serving. The output? Three lines of ASCII that render the Coo Coo’s happy face. The shirt is its own source code. Coders read it once and laugh; non-coders read the comments and get the joke without needing the technical layer.

This is the first piece in the Tech / Error 404 trio — alongside the 誤差 404 Coffee Not Found Tee (Japanese typography) and $ make coffee Tee (terminal output). Three different angles on coffee meets code — Western, cultural, universal. All three pair with Computer Bert on the back. See all Clothing & Gear →

Craft & Details

Real C++ CodeEleven lines that compile, link, and run on any modern C++14 compiler. The `chrono_literals` syntax is a senior-dev flex — coders read this and know the wearer knows the language.
The Output Is the LogoThe program’s `cout` line outputs ASCII characters that render the Coo Coo’s happy face. Two pipes for the steam, an underscore curved between slashes for the smile. The shirt is itself the source code that produces the brand.
?
Computer Bert on BackBert at his laptop in the Brew Is Truth cap, coding the exact shirt you’re wearing. Recursive Bert principle — Bert wears Bert, Bert codes Bert, the joke layers all the way down.
?
IBM Plex MonoThe same monospace font used by IBM, Stripe, and serious developer tools. Authentic to actual code editors, not a stylized approximation. Terminal green ink for full IDE authenticity.
Bert

Bert says: Brewing… please wait. Pour decisions were made.

Perfect for the coder who reads the source before drinking the coffee

Software engineers who appreciate when the joke compiles — not just sounds like it does
Devs who would screenshot this shirt and post it in their team Slack within five minutes of opening the package
Computer science students, code bootcamp grads, anyone who wrote `Hello World` in C++ as their first program
The non-coder gift recipient whose coder partner needs new tee energy — both audiences win
