UGC Terms

Effective date:

By submitting a review, photo, video, comment, tag, or other content (“UGC”) to Coo Coo’s Coffee (“we,” “us,” “our”), you agree to these UGC Terms. These live alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1) License you grant us

You grant Coo Coo’s Coffee a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, and transferable license (with the right to sublicense to our service providers and advertising partners) to:

  • Use, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display your UGC;
  • In any media now known or later developed, including our website, emails, social channels, and advertisements.

We may lightly edit for length or clarity and crop or color-correct images, provided we don’t materially misrepresent your original UGC or suggest you said something you did not.

2) Your rights & permissions

By submitting UGC, you confirm that:

  • You own or control the rights to the UGC, or have permission to share it under these Terms.
  • You have permission from any identifiable person shown or mentioned in the UGC (or from a parent/legal guardian for minors, as described below).
  • Your UGC is accurate and lawful and does not infringe any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy, or rights of publicity.
  • Your UGC does not include unsafe or prohibited content (for example, hate speech, explicit content, or illegal activity).
  • You will not include highly sensitive information such as health records, financial account numbers, or other people’s personal data.
  • You will not make unverified medical claims about our products (for example, claiming they treat or cure disease).

3) Attribution

When we display your UGC, we may show basic attribution alongside it, such as:

  • Your first name and last initial;
  • Your city and state or region;
  • “Verified Buyer” status (if applicable via our review system);
  • Optional public fields you’ve chosen to share (e.g., brew method, fit notes, favorite drink).

Some platforms or review widgets allow anonymous or initials-only posting — use those options if you prefer more privacy.

4) Removal & withdrawal

You can request removal of your UGC from our controlled channels at any time. Email us at support@coocooscoffee.com with:

  • A link or screenshot of the UGC, and
  • Enough detail for us to locate it (e.g., product page, date posted, username).

We’ll remove it from our website and owned channels within a reasonable time. Please note:

  • We may not be able to recall UGC already included in printed materials, shipped inserts, or ads that have already run.
  • We generally cannot remove content re-shared independently by third parties or on platforms we don’t control, but we can stop using it going forward.

5) Moderation

We love honest feedback and real stories. We may, however, refuse to post or may remove UGC that:

  • Is off-topic, misleading, or spam;
  • Is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or discriminatory;
  • Contains profanity, explicit content, or personal attacks;
  • Reveals someone’s personal or sensitive information without consent;
  • Makes unverified medical or safety claims about products.

We may also temporarily or permanently disable comments or reviews on specific posts or products to protect the community.

6) No compensation

Submitting UGC does not entitle you to payment or ownership in our content or brand. Sometimes we may send a coupon, freebie, or shout-out as a thank you — these are goodwill gestures, not payment for rights granted under these Terms.

7) Additional terms

Minors

Please do not submit UGC featuring minors unless you are the parent or legal guardian and consent to its use under these Terms. By submitting such UGC, you confirm you are authorized to grant these rights on the minor’s behalf.

Hashtags, tags & replies

On social platforms, using our designated campaign hashtags (for example in a future “Coo Coo’s Cares” or “Small Batch of Friends” campaign), tagging our account with product-focused content, or replying “yes” (or similar) to our UGC request message will typically count as your agreement to these UGC Terms.

Platform rules

Your UGC also has to follow the rules of the platform where you post it (Instagram, TikTok, etc.). If a platform removes or limits your post, our ability to use that UGC may be limited too.

How this fits with other policies

These UGC Terms supplement our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If there’s a conflict about how we use UGC, these UGC Terms control. Otherwise, all three documents apply together.

8) Contact

Questions about these UGC Terms or want us to review or remove something you’ve shared? Email support@coocooscoffee.com.

Friendly note: These UGC Terms are meant to be clear and human-readable, but they don’t replace legal advice. If you have specific legal questions, please talk with your attorney.
