Wear the stillness.
Bert meditating in a Japanese tea cup. Kanji brushed down each side. White steam, cool green tones, absolute quiet — on midweight fleece that feels like a deep breath.
Black and Navy are the heroes — cool greens and white steam pop hardest on dark. Forest Green gives the tea cup art an earthy backdrop. Select your color and size above.
The Design Story
This is the design that started the entire Steeping the Soul series — now on midweight fleece. Bert sits in lotus pose inside a Japanese tea cup. Bamboo painted on the side. A 茶 (tea) stamp on the front. White steam curling upward around him in soft spirals. He’s not drinking. He’s steeping. One is consumption. The other is transformation.
The kanji flanking the art splits the phrase across two sides: 心を (the soul, the heart) and 蒸らす (to steep, to let sit, to infuse). Together: “steeping the soul.” Below the art: “Steeping The Soul” in English and the brand line in katakana. If the Mexican crewneck sings and the Ethiopian mug prays — this one whispers. About the Japanese Tea Ceremony
The Japanese tea ceremony (chanoyu) is a practice of mindfulness, respect, and simplicity refined over centuries. Every movement is intentional. Every detail matters — the bowl, the water temperature, the arrangement of the room. The bamboo on this design isn’t decoration — bamboo represents resilience and flexibility in Japanese culture. The 茶 (tea) stamp is the character you’d find on a real tea house sign. Bert’s sitting in the cup because that’s where the stillness lives.
