The Design Story
The Kanji Collection started with a single character — 醸, “to brew.” Minimal. Philosophical. This hoodie goes the other direction entirely. Bert is rendered in a dense Japanese illustration style, tangled in coffee plant branches, pouring from a Chemex while kanji stack vertically beside him. 生命 (life), 珈琲 (coffee), 情愛 (passion) — three words that say everything the brand is about without saying it in English.
Where the 醸 pieces are typography-only, this is the full scene — Bert as the brand mascot in his most detailed, most illustrated form. Coffee cherries, steam, a pour-over in action, the Florida Brew Crew stamp, and “Coo Coo’s Coffee” framing the whole composition. It’s part poster, part brand manifesto, part art piece.
