Our Story

Rooted in love, brewed with intention. A small batch of friends, building something warm and real.

It started with a mocha, a laugh, and a spark.

In Seattle, a raspberry iced mocha turned a coffee-skeptic into a believer. But it wasn’t just the drink—it was the moment. It opened a door to something bigger: connection.

My mom, originally from Seattle, loved coffee—and people even more. She had that spark that turns strangers into friends and ordinary days into warm ones. Together, we built a shop that lasted over 13 years. It wasn’t always easy, but it was always worth it.

“Once you’re part of the crew, you’re family.”

Why we came back

When my mom got sick, I stepped away. But her voice never left. Picking up the beans again was a way to carry her spirit forward—with care, with craft, with people at the center.

Coo Coo’s Coffee was reborn as a gathering place for a small batch of friends who care deeply about the cup and the community. My sister Christie joined in, hand-pouring candles that bring the same warmth to every corner.

Small Batch of Friends (SBOF)

SBOF is our community promise: inclusive, kind, and a little goofy (on purpose). Bert—the gecko with a mug and a big grin—keeps the welcome wide and the energy light.

What we make (and why)

In loving memory: Everything we do is a quiet thank-you to Mom—and to the friends who became family along the way.
